This course provides advanced safeguarding knowledge and practical skills for professionals working directly with children, equipping them to identify, respond to, and manage safeguarding concerns effectively in line with UK legislation and best practice.

Course Objectives

• Understand the legal framework and statutory guidance relating to safeguarding children in the UK.

• Recognise the signs and indicators of abuse and neglect, including physical, emotional, sexual abuse, and exploitation.

• Develop the ability to respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, including disclosures from children and young people.

• Understand the importance of information sharing and multi-agency working in safeguarding.

• Learn how to record, report, and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policies.

• Gain knowledge of risk assessment and early intervention strategies to protect children.

• Understand the role of professional accountability, boundaries, and duty of care.

• Develop confidence in supporting children and families while maintaining safeguarding principles.

• Understand whistleblowing procedures and how to act on concerns about colleagues or practice.

Target Audience

This course is suitable for healthcare professionals, social care staff, teachers, support workers, and managers who have direct responsibility for safeguarding children and require a higher level of knowledge and accountability.

Course Format

Duration: 1/2 Day
Mode: In-person training only
Assessment: Practical scenarios, case studies, and written assessment

Certification

Participants will receive a Safeguarding Children Level 3 Certificate upon successful completion of the course.
The certification is valid for 1–3 years (in line with organisational policy and refresher requirements).
