This course is designed to enhance healthcare professionals' understanding of dementia, focusing on the challenges faced by individuals living with the condition. It emphasizes compassionate care and effective communication strategies to support those with dementia.


Course Objectives
  • Understand the different types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia.
  • Learn the signs, symptoms, and progression of dementia.
  • Gain insights into the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral changes associated with dementia.
  • Explore strategies for effective communication with individuals who have dementia.
  • Understand the importance of creating a supportive and safe environment for dementia patients.
  • Learn techniques for managing challenging behaviors in a compassionate manner.
  • Explore the role of family and caregivers in the care of individuals with dementia.

Certification

Participants will receive a Dementia Awareness Certificate upon successful completion, valid for 2 years.

 

Healthcare Legislations including MHA 1983, MCA 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008.
